As parents of college kids, we had so many “I wish I would have known,” or as we commonly referred to it as “HUH? ” moments during the four years our kids were at college. Since mothers are the true mothers of invention, we thought, “What if there was a one-stop place for parents to get not only detailed information about the university but also the surrounding community?”.
The idea was born, HaveUHeard was the result. Our older kids were at the University of Central Florida and the University of Florida. As working parents, we did not have the time to search for information inside and outside the walls of UCF and UF yet alone get answers from our kids. We needed to know so many facts and so much information that was just not easily found. We just wanted to make it easier.
We know how stressful the college process is, from orientation through graduation. Tada, we created HaveUHeard to provide the inside scoop from current students and parents; a been there, done that approach from trusted sources… A place to get information right at your fingertips instead of having to go searching on many other websites.
HaveUHeard will be your guide to getting to know your student’s University and the surrounding community. It will be a place to post questions, get recommendations and be on the inside track to everything you need to know about life on and off campus. It is meant to give you a real perspective from our point of view and our experiences. And most importantly we get the info from IRL (in real life) parents and students in your Florida school.
Need to know about loans, taxes, paperwork? We’ve got that! How to survive the greek process, we can help. Best hotels or restaurants for parents weekend or graduation, we know the ins and outs. We even have many gift guides with specifically requested items from college students.
We hope HaveUHeard makes your journey with your college student a little easier, less stressful and perhaps even save you some money and frustration. We’re glad that now you’ve heard about … HaveUHeard!
